College hockey is heating up in the DMV and we’ve got a TON of teams to cover. From the eastern shore to Baltimore, in DC, down in Virginia, you name it, there’s hockey! There’s a massive slate of games this weekend and we’re here to give you a preview of all of em, so lets rock!
Mason Wants 4 Points
George Mason has two games this coming weekend. They hit the road tonight to take on Penn State Berks at 8:10, then come home Saturday for a big matchup vs Towson at Prince William at 8:10. Mason is off to a dismal 1-3 start. They’ll need to turn it around quick to make a run at Nationals.
Catholic vs Salisbury
The defending DVCHC American Division champs host Salisbury tonight in their home opener at Ft. DuPont. They’ll be taking on the Gulls Patriot team at 9:30 tonight, then head to Salisbury to take on the Gulls National team at 4:20 tomorrow at Delaware Fairgrounds. Shout out to my guy Coach Will Johnson, and shout out to my two Ryken ballers on the National team, Dom DeLong and Luke Sprague!
UMD Terps
The Terps have a big home game tonight as they are hosting Pitt at the Gardens Ice House! Puck drops at 7:00 pm. Get out to Laurel tonight and rock that rink with EAT SHIT PITT chants. Lets go Terps!
Towson Home Opener
Towson is hosting Lehigh for their home opener tonight at 8:00 PM, game to be held at Ice World. The Tigers are off to an 0-4 start and are looking to right the ship led by forward Ryan Dieter who netted 4 genos in the first four games for Towson. The Tigers head to George Mason on Saturday for an 8:10 PM puck drop in Prince William.
Navy D1 and Ladies
The Navy Men’s D1 team will be taking on D1 Pitt this weekend on both Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM at McMullen arena. The Navy Men’s D1 team is off to a 2-2 start, splitting their series with West Virginia, beating Mercyhurst, and losing to RIT. They Navy Women’s hockey team is off to a blazing 4-0 start and have combined for 42 goals for in those 4 games while only letting up 4. They’ll be taking on Air Force on Saturday at 10:00 PM, directly following the Navy Men’s game.
Hokies Hit the Road vs JMU
The Virginia Tech Hokies on are on the road all weekend looking for 2 big wins. Friday night ice is going down in Morgantown, WV (shout out Nicky Lane, Delaney and big boi Troy) at 8:00 PM. Saturday they;ll be taking on cross state rival JMU at 7:00 PM at the Haymarket IcePlex. The Hokies are 1-1-1 so far this season, and JMU will be looking for their first win.
Wahoo Hockey
The Virginia Cavaliers are off to Raleigh, NC this weekend for 3 games vs. Stephen Russell. UVA is 2-1 on the season so far.
Georgetown Hoyas
Georgetown is off to a 2-1 start defeating Maryland and Richmond, but dropping their last game to Rowan 2-6. They’ll get a shot at revenge tonight at 10:00 PM at the St. James, and will be at the rink tomorrow as well vs. Wake Forest at 9:00 PM
