Holtby has been getting some heat lately and it hasn’t helped that our tender of the future has been playing like a savy vet. The phrase “goalie controversy” has been tossed around with ease as Samsonov has been playing solid in the crease. But tonight he puts all that talk to rest as he gives the Caps a 41-save performance and 2 points.

The boys grabbed the lead in the first from an Oshie tuck on the powerplay. He’s got 7 on the year and is off to a hot start while racking up a nice little point streak.

Ovie also gets on the board with an apple from John Carlson who has a Norris trophy in his sights this year. John Carlson joined some top notch company with 18 points in his first 10 games this year. He joins Bobby Orr and Paul Coffey as the only defenseman to do so. NOT A BIG DEAL

Caps are starting to find their groove and grab the division lead early in the season.
