Caps put out the Flames in Calgary 5-3

Who knew it was Theo Fleury who influenced a young Ovie to someday where yellow laces and a tinted visor in a NHL game…… anyways

Johnny Hockey who??

John Carlson is who!! Coming into this game leading the NHL in points (3G15A) could tie a Capitals record with one point in 8 straight games. I hope you bet on that because he delivered 35 seconds into the 2nd. Johnny just throws the puck on net and beat Talbot who must of been napping. Moments later Talbot still in a fog misplays a puck behind the net with a hard forechecking Stephenson coming in and just throwing the puck toward the net hitting flames a d-man redirecting it into the net Caps up 2-0 in the blink of an eye!

The old saying goes the worst lead in hockey is a 2 goal lead. Not even a minute after the caps go up 2 goals the flames get one back and a another later in the period. Looking like 2-2 going into the 3rd… but of course Ovie needed to get in on the action as him and Backstrom get a 2-1 Ovie snaps home his 7th of the year.

Tom Wilson adds to the lead in the 3rd on a sweet pass from Eller. Was a nice play on this goal Vrana drives thru the slot toward the net hard opening up some space for Tom to be alone with the goalie and a 30 goal scorer like himself makes the flames pay. Our own Johnny Hockey (J.Carlson) continues his NHL lead in points with an ENG. Flames do end up scoring one late but the game is long gone by then. Caps win 5-3

Caps only with 13 hits on the game not as physical as the Chicago. Holtby standing tall to pull off another win, .914 SV% and he’s looking to keep heating up on this road trip. With Mcdavid and the Oilers up next do you ride the hot hand?? We’ll see on Thursday!

Go Caps!
