The D2 Flames had a much deserved bye weekend, no wins, no losses, still sitting pretty with 14 wins in 15 games. They’ll be home this weekend as they welcome in a very solid Sault team that’s won 4 straight games, scoring 10+ in 3 of those 4, and hasn’t lost a single road game in the 6 they’ve played this year.

After a tough weekend on the road vs one of the top teams in the country in Adrian and dropping both games for their first two losses of the season, the D1 Flames got right back on the wagon at home this past weekend as they swept Stony Brook. In Friday nights win, Liberty had 5 goal scorers and a hat trick from Josh Fricks.

The Hokies had a fairly light weekend with just one game, Friday night, as they hosted High Point and downed em 7-4 to get them their 10th win of the year. Messuro would dangle-snipe-celly on the helpless HPU tendy. Slater would also tuck one, but the big man on campus was Wildgrube with a hat trick, scoring 3 of the first 5 Hokie goals. They have a heavy weekend coming up at the Stephen Russell tourney, taking on a tough NC State team on Sunday.

The Colonials had a HELL of a weekend on the road. They kicked things off against the #6 team in the DMV, the Mason Patriots, who were on a 6 game winnings streak, and came away with a massive win in the shootout. They then traveled to JMU, avoided a trap game, and beat the wheels off of em 7-2. They are tied at third with VT, but this weekend for both teams at the Stephen Russell tourney will surely seprated the two based on results.

The Mustangs took an longggggggggggg roady this weekend as they traveled north for a two game series vs Vermont. The series was donned “Two Teams Battling for a Cause” teaming up with Team Brady to support life services at the UVM Children’s hospital. They would drop the first one, but we’ll blame that on the roady. The Stangs would bounce back the following day with a 5-3 victory behind goals from Malone(2), Bennett, Waterson, and Kittelberger.

Mason only had one game this past weekend and it was a showdown of the top ranked Chripin’ DMV teams as they hosted #4 George Washington. This game lived up to the hype in a big way. Mason would find themselves down 0-2 early, but Cam Smith would make it a 2-1 game in the second. Mason would have to comeback all game, then again trailing 1-3, scoring to make it a one goal game, then rolling from there with goals by Trevor Mack and Timmy Contos. Patriots would eventually fall in a tough shootout.

OKAY OKAY I gotta show em some love. Their ranking fluctuates more than a middle aged man trying living room DVDs on Thursdays and gassin beers in his man cave all weekend. I didn’t hate, per say, just said that I need some games to be played, and up until last weekend, they only had 4 games under their belt. A massive two win weekend earned my respect back, and the Cards are back in the top 10.

Another weekend, another bye for the Ice Cavs. Luckily, they have the Stephen Russell tourney and 3 games (finally) this upcoming weekend. The 3 games could really swing in their favor if they get some wins.

The Captains were back in action this weekend as they hosted (an early) senior night, welcoming in the D3 Liberty Flames, a team they haven’t beat in four years…. UNTIL Friday night that was while Thomas Ryerse, Brandon Day, and Aidan Wheeler would score and lead CNU to a massive victory.

The Gulls haven’t been playing many games as of yet, and are still on a 2 game losing streak. After a bye weekend, they have a chance at revenge against Stockton, who handed Salisbury their most recent loss.
