“You know it ain’t no stoppin’, all tha doggs i’m droppin’, it’s Friday night so everythang is poppin'” – ICE CUBE

Actually Cube… thing’s weirdly AREN’T poppin’ tonight, as we only have 17 games across the board in all four leagues, when we usually have 17 alone in the MSHL. Biggest drop being due to the CSHL having a bye week, where they only had one game and it was earlier this week on Monday in a game that saw WT Woodson take down South County 6-3. But hey, there ain’t no stoppin’, so let’s see what pucks we got droppin’ tonight.

#5 Bishop O’Connell (2-2-1) @ Spalding (0-3-3)

Piney Orchard, 7:00 PM puck drop

The only league game in the MAPHL tonight takes place at Piney in a very interesting match-up that could go either way. Yes, O’Connell roster wise has more talent, and should win this game… BUT, it’s arguably the best goalie in the DMV in Spaldings Colin Berke who can steal a game… i.e. his 62 save shutout against DeMatha earlier in the year to earn his squad a tie. Our breakdown for this game is in yesterdays episode and on our Instagram now, so head over to hear what else we have to say about this one.

#1 St. John’s and #4 Gonzaga hit the road…

It’s a tournament weekend for two of the top teams in the DMV. St John’s is in Lake Placid all weekend for the Northwood Tournament. The Eagles are also heading north to Chicago as they’ll be competing in the Jesuit Cup. First game is tomorrow as 10:10 PM as they’ll take on Benet.

Battlefield (6-0-1) @ Chantilly (7-0-0)

Ashburn Ice House, 10:50 PM puck drop

The biggest game in the NVSHL as two division leaders go head to head in a potential playoff match-up as Battlefield hits the road to take on Chantilly in a LATE AF game.. literally these kids are getting out of the rink at like 1 am…Chantilly has the highest scoring offense in the league with 65 goals for, while Battlefield is 4th in goals against, only letting in 21. Somethings gotta break tonight, and we’ll have to wait till 11 pm to find out.

Broad Run (6-1-0) @ South Lakes (0-7-0)

SkateQuest Reston-OLY, 9:40 PM puck drop

The Smythe division leader vs a win-less South Lakes team, which gives me a pretty good feeling of how this games gonna go, so why not resort back to last week and set some lines? Broad Run’s Matt Price (14-8–22) has scored 2+ in four of his last five games, including two hat tricks in that span. Let’s set his over/under goal total at 3.5.

Dominion/Potomac Falls (4-3-0) @ Langley (4-2-1)

SkateQuest of Reston-NHL, 9:40 PM puck drop

What should shape up to be a damn good game is dropping puck in a late one tonight as the defending champs are honoring their leaders and vets as they’ll be hosting their senior night tonight, so get there early for t-shirt and Chipotle giftcard giveaways!

Freedom (3-4-0) @ Yorktown (4-2-1)

Kettler Capital Iceplex, 8:20 PM puck drop

Friday night, reasonable time for puck drop, which means a ruckus Yorktown student section will be out in full force. Three points separate these two teams in the Norris division as Freedom is looking to jump into the top three and stay in plaff contention, and Yorktown is looking to cement themselves as second with no team nipping at their heals in the division.

McLean (2-2-2) @ Madison (3-4-1)

SkateQuest Reston-OLY, 7:55 PM puck drop

An Adams division match-up with a lot on the line in terms of standings. Langley sits in 1st with 9 points in 7 GP, Madison in 2nd with 7 points in 8 GP, and McLean in 3rd with 6 points in 6 games played. A win by McLean would jump them to 2nd and only a point behind Langley. This is by far the closest division in the NVSHL, so it’ll be a wild ride to the finish to see how seedings play out.

No social media from any of the teams in the MSHL tonight, so we’ll just run through a few games…

Wolves (1-5-0) @ River Hill (1-4-1)

Dulaney (4-5-1) @ Bel Air (1-9-0)

Richard Montgomery (2-7-1) @ Wootton (7-2-1)

Wilson (2-6-0) @ Montgomery Blair (4-3-1)

Fallston (8-1-0) @ Easton (9-0-0)
