We’re rounding out a loaded week on the pod with a jam packed local puck episode and interview with our buddy Wilmer Skooooooooooog. We kick things off with our normal, out of control scoreboard rundown where we put a fun twist on recaps for selected games around the DMV. We take pretty deep dive into the four high schools leagues as playoffs are right around the corner and we kindaaaaa start to get a look at how some seeding might play out. We also have High School Power Rankings and College Power Rankings as well as Junior hockey recaps from around the DMV.

Interview – Wilmer Skoog

Like we mentioned, we give Skoog a call to check on things and see how the transition is going from the NAHL to college hockey… and to make sure he’s doing his homework. Skoog forwent the remainder of the season with the Maryland Black Bears in an announcement on December 24th to join the Boston University Terriers team he committed to prior to the season. You’ll hear it in the interview, but BU had some key long-term injuries and needed help on offense, and obviously he’s not gonna say no when D1 hockey comes calling. Check out some of his insane highlights with BU already just a handful of games in.

Team’s of the Week

KP – Liberty D1

Powers is taking the D1 Flames for his team of the week as they get a sweep over Delaware, out scoring the ducks 15-5 in their 5-2 and 10-3 victories.

AB – Chantilly

AB is taking the high school route as the Chargers win the biggest game of the week in the NVSHL as they beat Battlefield in a match-up of unbeaten division leaders.

COACH – Navy Women’s

Lastly, I’m taking the Navy Ladies this week as they take down the Pitt Panthers in a weekend sweeeeeeeep. They took game one with a 7-4 win, then turned around and shut out the Panthers the next day as both wins came in Annapolis on home ice.
