38 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 1 block

“I almost played myself into passing out,” Jordan said after the game. “I came in and I was almost dehydrated, and it was all just to win a basketball game. I couldn’t breathe. My energy level was really low. My mouth was really dry. They started giving me Gatorade, and I thought about IV.”

Yes, those are the stats from the famous Jordan flu game in the 1997 finals, followed by a post game quote from the GOAT (yea I said it you weird ass LeBron fans). Why and the hell is this relevant? Well….

39 recorded min, 1 episode hosted and edited, 1 blog written, 5 social media assets created, 1 and 1 YouTube and audio podcast uploaded

“It was tough man, I had just woken up from a nap and was a lil sleepy still. I hosted myself into almost passing out. I ate FOUR sore throat drops during the recording, and went off an on with my hoodie as the chills came and went. I couldn’t breathe, I came in dehydrated so had to have two gatorades and a water GoPuffed (no free ads) to my house before the recording started, and it was all just to record an episode of the greatest Caps podcast in the history of the world.”

Coaches Corona recording will go down in the history (audio) books as a story of resilience, perseverance, determination, and grit. Like a 3rd line grinder if you will, crash the net, get gutty in the corners, pucks in pucks out, let it rock. Now, I don’t need your symphony, I really don’t. I actually just got off the phone with the CDC about how to get over Corona, and what they told me? Just CRAZY. They said everyone has to go to the link here: https://teespring.com/stores/chirpin-dmv-2 and BUY MERCH!!!

Interview – Rob Carlin

Today’s interview was an awesome one, and I truly enjoyed recording it and talking to Rob Carlin. The guy is a legend in the eyes of Caps fans, mine included. The nine years he spent on the Caps pre and post game live show and on the 2nd highest rated (behind us obvi) Caps podcast “Capitals Talk” was incredible. He became a main stay in Caps fans homes on NBCSW coming at you 30 min prior and 30 min after each and every game. He always approached his job with passion, professionalism, and knowledge, which is all you can ask for from a tv personality covering the team you live and die by.

We all saw, and know of the news that broke when he was dismissed from NBCSW and Alan May gave the emotional farewell, and yes, we do bring that up in the interview towards the end. But what’s next for Rob Carlin? He doesn’t know, but he’s ready for whatever, and he’s keeping busy, as we popped in above an episode of his new podcast, “The Capital Building Podcast” It’s a great listen, and you need to go check it out. We cover basically everything from his career, starting in Alabama, to NY, Baltimore, back to NY and getting his first NHL job with the Islanders, then the big move to DC. He also gives us some also cup stories, and some of his favorite memories with Ovi. You can catch the interview on our YouTube below.

Previewing The Sabres Double Header and Sunday Game with the Pens

FINALLY. That’s it. That’s the tweet. Hockey is finally back and NOT in a bubble! Can you believe it? Caps kick off the shortened campaign Thursday and Friday in Buffalo, then move on to the rival Pens on Sunday. I’m not gonna go too much in to it here cause A) listen to the pod, and B) @gingsnapz wrote a sick blog detailing everything here: https://chirpindmv.com/2021/01/12/https-twitter-com-capitals-status-1341840527168331780s20s/

Hanks Successful Heart Surgery

Things you love to see: The King having a successful albeit five hour long, heart surgery. Could you imagine? FIVE HOURS of heart surgery, I mean that’s just bananas to me. Shoutout to the Cleveland Clinic for supplying him with the most successful and trusted doctors possible. Now, can you come back plz?

I would usually write a ton more in these blogs, but the rona has me crippled at the moment, and gotta prepare for two more Chirpin’ interviews tonight cause the grind don’t stop, content don’t sleep, and the fans are always gonna get our best. Season 2 is off and running and we love you all to death. Let’s get some dubs this weekend and enjoy watching the boys back ion the ice.
